Yubin Kim has been playing the violin since the age of five, and she has been awarded top prizes in many competitions, including the Canadian Music Competiton, Bjorn & Lori Hareid Provincial Concerto Competition, and the Vancouver Westcoast Music Society Bursary Competition. Yubin was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and previously studied with Roger Mangas and Taras Gabora. As an avid soloist and chamber musician, Yubin has a wide range of repertoire and has done numerous performances in renowned concert halls and venues across North America and Europe. Yubin was also invited to participate in many festivals, including the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, Musiktage am Rhein Music Festival, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and the Kessler Chamber Music Academy. From 2012-2020, Yubin was a member of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she won the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Division Concerto Competitions and got to perform as a soloist with each of the orchestras. She was also the concertmaster of the VYSO from 2018-2020. Yubin has always been actively involved with her community and held many leadership positions to serve others through her music. Yubin was the president of the JKCS Strings Ensemble from 2021-2022, where she led rehearsals, organized concerts, and mentored students of all ages. In June 2022, the JKCS Strings Ensemble got invited to play at the Royal Columbian Hospital gala for more than 2500 healthcare workers. Yubin is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studies with Hyo Kang. Yubin is a passionate and dedicated violinist and aims to pursue a career as a professional musician.

Japanese pianist Chiharu Iinuma has been increasingly in high demand as a teacher, coach and ensemble pianist.  A founding member of the Ridge Trio, the Chamber Ensemble Bloomington and the Duo Gillham-Iinuma, for many years she was the studio pianist for Joseph Gingold, Janos Starker, Franco Gulli, Neli Shkolnikova, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Miriam Fried, Yuval Yaron, James Campbell and IU String Academy at Indiana University's Jacobs School.  In 1993, she was invited to participate in the inaugural Isaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop at Carnegie Hall in New York.  She has been heard on NHK and CBC radios over the years.  In recent years, she has played in concerts and festivals in Germany, Sweden, Scotland, China, Taiwan, Japan, as well as across U.S. and Canada collaborating with Arianna String Quartet, Pendereki String Quartet, Adrian Anantawan, Dale Barltrop, Ariel Barnes,  Rachel Barton-Pine, Martin Beaver, James Campbell, Marc, Timothy Chooi, Coppey, Mark Fewer, David Gillham, Tom Landschoot, Blair Lofgren, Antonio Lysy, Johannes Moser, Philippe Muller, Christoph Schickedanz, Alan Stepansky, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Rafael Wallfisch, Rob Weir, Thomas Wiebe, Eric Wilson, Min-Ho Yeh, among others. 
 
From 2001 to 2004, she was the Director of Accompanying at the University of Central Arkansas where the Duo Gillham-Iinuma was "Duo in Residence".  Chiharu has served as a staff pianist and coach at institutes such as the Meadowmount School of Music, Indiana University Summer String Academy and currently at the Domaine Forget International Music and Dance Academy in Quebec, Canada. 

 
She has recorded "Edvard Grieg: The Three Sonatas for Violin and Piano" with David Gillham for Centaur Records (CRC2873), and "Johannes Brahms: The Complete works for Violin and Piano" with Christoph Schickedanz also for Centaur Records (CRC3498).   
 
Chiharu was born in Nagano and raised in Tokyo, Japan.  Following her graduation from the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, she was awarded the Asahi Beer Arts Foundation Scholarship, which enabled her to study at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she received her Performer Diploma, Artist Diploma and Master’s degree.  Her teachers include Yoshimi Tamaki, Shuku Iwasaki, Shigeo Neriki and Leonard Hokanson.  Currently, she is on a piano faculty at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music.
